Paul Robeson Institute for Positive Self Development

Fall 2009 - Spring 2010

Concerned Black Men of Massachusetts and the students of the Paul Robeson Institute currently are enjoying weekly sessions that began the fall and end in the spring.

Students returned to Northeastern University's John D. O'Bryant African American Institute for another year of social and academic enrichment activities. Classes and extracurricular activities take place every Saturday morning from approximately 8:30am to 12:30pm, except during weeks when public schools are not in session. Click on PRI EVENTS for a full schedule of classes, including field trips, special sessions, and vacation dates when PRI is closed.

The PRI curriculum is developed by a core group of CBMM members, with guidance from Education Chair, Dr. J. Keith Motley. The classes are managed each week by several professional members and college students, all of whom volunteer their services to ensure that the needs of PRI students are met. CBMM Director of Wellness, Robert "Smokey" Montgomery, and a group of dedicated parents oversee the planning, shopping, preparation and service of a nutritional breakfast and lunch for each session.
